Latto‘s boyfriend caught a bit of flack on social media earlier this week when he was accused of doing the “bare minimum” amid her recent musical success.
On Monday (March 28), the Atlanta rapper — who just recently released her new album 777 and “Big Energy” remix with Mariah Carey — tweeted a text message exchange with her mystery man, who congratulated her by writing, “Everything falling in place for you. Nobody can’t stop you.”
Latto replied with a photo of her shedding tears of joy while captioning the post, “My man got me crying in the hookah bar yall.”

Latto may have found her boyfriend’s words sweet and supportive, but one of her followers thought differently. “This is literally the bare minimum but mmmk girl,” they tweeted.
Never one to hold her tongue, Big Latto clapped back at the Twitter user by reeling off all the expensive gifts her boyfriend has showered her with that the rest of the world hasn’t seen.
“What’s bare minimum?” she retorted. “The Lamborghini he bought? The pink corvette? The pink Richard Mill? 1 of my 20 birkins? Aint nun bare minimum bout my love life babe. Not to mention I GET THE DICK TO MYSELF.
“But it’s his emotional support that do it for me! U hating from outside the club.”

Latto has yet to reveal the identity of her boyfriend. During a recent interview with Hollywood Unlocked‘s Jason Lee, the “Big Energy” rapper explained she prefers to keep her love life private.
“I just don’t make it a public thing,” she said. “I’ll tell people, ‘yeah, da-da-da, ’cause I got a man or whatever.’ I just don’t want to make it a public thing. I feel like I have to expose so much of my life unwillingly already.”
She added, “He helps me, too. A lot of the times, the industry try to paint it like it’s a distraction to be in a relationship. My relationship has helped me behind the scenes and in the actual industry. Emotionally, when I’m just over it, when I need advice and I need to know certain things that I didn’t know, he be there for me.”
On the music side, Latto’s 777 LP is expected to earn around 22,000 album-equivalent units — including roughly 1,000 physical sales — in its first week, according to HITS Daily Double.
If the forecast holds up, the album will debut at No. 17 on the Billboard 200, marking Latto’s highest charting project to date. Her debut album Queen of da Souf peaked at No. 44 back in 2020.
The RCA Records signee is currently enjoying more success on the Billboard Hot 100 as “Big Energy” climbed to No. 11 on this week’s chart, bolstered by the release of 777 and her Mariah Carey-assisted remix.
