Lil Duval might not be subjected to the wrath Trick Daddy experienced with The Beyhive earlier this week, but he’s definitely feeling the heat on Twitter.
In the early hours of Thursday (June 24), the rapping comedian fired off a tweet that read, “DaBaby is this generation Ludacris” and that was enough for Ludacris fans to pounce.
Da baby is this generation Ludacris

While DaBaby has certainly seen a meteoric rise to success over the last couple of years, Ludacris fans were incensed by the comparison. Forget the fact Luda has been pumping out hits since 2000, he has several multi-platinum albums, stars in one of the biggest film franchises of all time (Fast & Furious), owns his own label (Disturbing Tha Peace), is the co-owner of Conjure Cognac Liquor and founded his own restaurant called Chicken N Beer, named after his 2003 multi-platinum album of the same name.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. As pointed out on Twitter, Ludacris was one of the first Dirty South rappers to achieve mainstream success, winning an MTV Video Music Award and three Grammy Awards along the way.
As for DaBaby, the 29-year-old has netted two No. 1 Billboard 200 albums — 2020’s KIRK and Blame It On Baby — and one No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single “ROCKSTAR” with Roddy Ricch. He was also nominated for a Grammy Award six times beginning with 2020’s “Suge” single.
Despite DaBaby’s wins, Twitter still found a way to ensure Ludacris came out on top while stirring up an intense debate in the process.
Check out some of the best reactions below.
Twitter blocking every comparison of DaBaby to Ludacris.
Luda had 10x the hits & cultural impact DaBaby will ever have…pic.twitter.com/ZfxvcdqbaM

He's nowhere close to Ludacris and the statement is ludicrous.
I'm from NC and supported DaBaby, but this isn't it.

DaBaby don’t have one of these. https://t.co/HfFxUJZr8H

It's been a long road and I'm glad to see Ludacris get the respect in hip hop he deserves. Also, this comparison is horrendous, at best Dababy is Ludacris if he made Back for the First Time eight times and called it new music each time. Also, Luda never struck a fan. https://t.co/ND0ZMFJEoC

Ludacris is one of the most consistent and under appreciated rappers ever. DaBaby tried switching his style once for an album and came out even worse
