Lil Wayne has been added to the 2022 BET Awards performance lineup. According to a press release fired off on Thursday (June 23), the Cash Money legend will join several previously announced performers, including Babyface, Chance The Rapper, Jack Harlow, Joey Bada$$, Latto, Lizzo and Roddy Ricch.
Meanwhile, award presenters include Big Freedia — who’s currently basking in Beyoncé glory following the “Break My Soul” single — Get Out actor Daniel Kaluuya, Idris Elba, Irv Gotti, Janelle Monáe and Ne-Yo, among others. MC Lyte will returns as the ceremony’s announcer, while DJ Diamond Kuts will resume DJ duties.
In addition to the various awards being handed out, Diddy will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. As BET CEO Scott Mills explained, “Diddy has always been a pioneering force in our community, breaking barriers, achieving unprecedented heights, blazing new trails, and, in so doing, raising the bar for all of us.”
Past winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award include music dignitaries such as Whitney Houston, Prince, Queen Latifah, Anita Baker, Mary J. Blige, Samuel Jackson, Lionel Richie and New Edition.
The 2022 BET Awards take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday (June 26). They will also simulcast on BET, BET Her, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Pop, TV Land and VH1. Internationally, the show will simulcast on BET Africa, BET France and will be available to watch on My5 and Sky On-Demand in the United Kingdom, as well as BET Pluto in the UK and Brazil.
