Philadelphia is about to meet the Middle East as Meek Mill descends on the United Arab Emirates.
On Friday (February 18), Meek Mill will perform at the luxurious rooftop venue of the Soho Garden, Palm Jumeirah located at Nakheel Mall in Dubai. In a tweet on February 10, the Expensive Pain rapper celebrated the lavish gig by confirming the news of his trip writing, “Yea I’m coming to Dubai.”

The high-profile concert, which is a reservation-only event, marks a major turning point in Meek Mill’s career and personal life. In 2017, Meek was handed a two-to-four-year sentence for violating his probation — which he had been on for nine years since a 2008 conviction for simple assault along with drug and gun charges.
Meek Mill became a beacon for criminal justice reform after the Superior Court of Pennsylvania granted an appeal he submitted to have his 2008 conviction in July of 2019.
Following his successful appeal, Meek Mill joined forces with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation imprint and REFORM, which is an alliance that focuses on developing ways to “dramatically reduce the number of people who are unjustly under the control of the criminal justice system – starting with probation and parole.”
The show also serves as a small win in Meek Mill’s ongoing battles with his label Atlantic Records, whom he claims screwed him out of a deal that would’ve led to him managing Roddy Ricch.
