Last year, Megan Thee Stallion sued the YouTuber Milagro Gramz over alleged Tory Lanez case lies and deepfake porn. Today, the rapper won the defamation lawsuit.
The federal jury agreed that the content creator, whose real name is Milagro Cooper, defamed and harassed Megan. They awarded her $75,000, but U.S. District Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga brought it down to $59,000.
Megan accused Cooper of “carrying out a public campaign to ‘denigrate, belittle, insult, and spread false statements’ about her,” as well as “cyberstalking, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy.” After Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in the summer of 2020, Cooper spread misinformation about the ensuing case, claiming that Megan had been “caught trying to deceive the courts” and that the gun that Tory Lanez used to shoot her had gone missing. He also linked out to an AI-generated deepfake porn video of Megan.
Megan’s win follows Cardi B’s victory in her $4 million defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Tasha K.
