Having a chain is like a rite of passage in Hip Hop culture. Rappers love getting new ice, and there’s no limit to creativity in creating these iced out chains.
The legendary Missy Elliott recently flexed some jewelry of her own when she took to her Instagram with a post showing off her new piece made by B&B Jewelry. In the clip, fans got a great look at the piece, which features white and gold diamonds on the chain and a pendant that steals the spotlight.
The charm takes inspiration from Missy’s iconic garbage bag outfit from the music video of her classic 1997 debut hit single “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly).” There were several yellow diamonds placed on the headpiece Missy wore in the video with matching jewels on the earrings.
“I Can’t stand The [rain]… Thank you @bandbjewelry SUPADUPA,” Missy wrote in her caption.

The chain is fitting for an icon like Missy Elliott who recently was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and became the first female rapper to have six platinum albums. On January 30, Chart Data tweeted, “All six of @MissyElliott’s studio albums are now certified platinum or higher, the most among female rappers.”
Missy hopped on Twitter to express her excitement, writing, “This is a HUGE MILESTONE! No matter how long it took to get here I am here & I AM HUMBLY GRATEFUL. To all my SISTERS in HIP HOP y’all keep doing y’all thang & SHINING.”
