For all his concern about being exiled from the music industry and/or society, nobody cancels Morrissey more than Morrissey himself. The suavely cantankerous former Smiths frontman, who theoretically is rolling out a new album right now, has kept up his habit of cancelling concerts in 2026. Our guy was pulling the plug on scheduled gigs as early as Jan. 3, and despite actually getting onstage a few times, the cancellations have continued.
As of today, he’s now scrapped his fifth gig of the year, just 19 days in: an engagement at the Duke Energy Center For The Arts’ Mahaffey Theater in St Petersburg, FL that was set to go down Tuesday night. The show was already a rescheduled date after Moz canceled on the same venue last May. Good luck to the Morrissey fans of Hollywood, FL, where he’s allegedly performing this Thursday.
