Nas is looking to make it back-to-back victories in the Best Rap Album category at this year’s Grammy Awards. His King’s Disease II sequel is up for Best Rap Album honors once again, but he faces stiff competition from Drake‘s Certified Lover Boy, J. Cole‘s The Off-Season, Kanye West‘s Donda and Tyler, The Creator‘s CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST for the trophy.
The Illmatic icon previously graced the Grammys stage in 2020 for a performance of “Rodeo (Remix)” with Lil Nas X.
With his 16th total Grammy nomination, Nas is also in the running for Best Rap Song thanks to his contributions to DMX’s posthumous “Bath Salts” alongside JAY-Z. The track is up against Saweetie and Doja Cat’s “Best Friend,” Baby Keem and Kanye West and J. Cole, 21 Savage and Morray’s “My Life.”
The full list of 2022 Grammy Award performers outside of Nas includes Jack Harlow, Lil Nas X, Silk Sonic, Billie Eilish, BTS, Lady Gaga and Olivia Rodrigo.
Hosted by Trevor Noah for the second consecutive year, the 64th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Sunday (April 3) at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
