NBA YoungBoy has been on a tear with new music. The Baton Rouge rapper just dropped off his new single “I Got The Bag” on Tuesday (March 15), and his Better Than You collab with DaBaby cracked the Billboard Top 10 this week. Lil Nas X also confirmed on Wednesday (March 16) that YoungBoy and him have a song on the way, all while the rapper’s last solo effort Colors isn’t even three months old yet.
Still, the Top lyricist returned on Thursday (March 17) with yet another YouTube-exclusive track called “Holy,” along with a visual accompaniment that features a brief cameo from Jazlyn Mychelle.
The brooding visual directed by Fly Guy Nick clocks in at barely two minutes and finds YoungBoy crooning about how fed up he is with clout chasers and fakes.
“No, I can’t just let you take me out/At the house I’m makin’ money, pause/N-iggas want clout, I’m changing the style/Every one minute I’m changing the ride/Ho don’t get it, can’t talk right now,” he raps slowly.
While YoungBoy seems to be ruminating on all the drama he’s been embroiled in lately, both legal and otherwise, the 22-year-old rapper has experienced plenty of blessings recently.
His joint effort with DaBaby as previously noted cracked the Billboard 200’s Top 10 on the latest albums chart, landing at No. 10 with 28,5000 total album-equivalent units sold its first week, according to Billboard. His previous solo effort Colors also debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 2 back in January. He is rumored to be dropping another solo effort titled The Last Slimeto any day now, and according to Genius, “Holy” seems to be a single off the album.
