Nick Cannon and his growing fleet of children has been internet fodder for months. Since welcoming four children in six months in 2021, the jokes at Cannon’s expense have yet to cease whenever the topic is brought up. But in an interview with E! News “Daily Pop” on Tuesday (May 17), the Wild ‘N Out host revealed he might put a cap on eight children ahead of his next baby’s arrival.
“I already went and got my vasectomy consultation,” he said. “I ain’t looking to populate the Earth completely, but I’m definitely looking forward to taking care and loving all the children that I currently have.” He also added he’s not “out here looking” for more kids.

Cannon’s comments are in stark contrast to what he was saying last year. In a July 2021 interview with City Girls, Cannon said he was having multiple children “on purpose.” He latter scoffed at the “Eurocentric” idea of having just one mother of his children while speaking to The Breakfast Club.
But in February, Cannon’s tune started to change. During a conversation with Dr. Laura Berman for her Language of Love podcast, he suggested the effort it takes to foster intimate relationships with women and father their children is taking its toll.
“I don’t have the bandwidth for it anymore,” he said. “I feel like I do owe the women that are currently in my life, I owe them as much energy, time, and effort as I possibly [can] — especially my kids. Every time I close my eyes I see my kids.”
Cannon shares twins Moroccan and Monroe, 11, with ex-wife Mariah Carey, son Golden and daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell and 11-month-old twins Zion and Zillion with Abby De La Rosa. His 5-month-old son with Alyssa Scott, Zen, died from brain cancer in December 2021, one month before Cannon and model Bre Tiesi revealed they were expecting.
“I don’t know if I would’ve designed it this way, but it’s one of those things when you’re blessed with the gifts of children — and as we all know, I’ve been through so much. I find solace, I find peace in my children, and I find purpose.”
Cannon held a listening party on Tuesday (May 17) for his forthcoming mixtape Raw & B: The Explicit Tape, which is expected to arrive on Friday (May 20).
