The trailer reveal comes at a busy time for Nicki, who has been slowly making her return to the Hip Hop scene. In addition to the bevy of guest features she’s put out over the last several months, Nicki is also working on her solo material.
Last week, the leader of the Barbs announced the release date of her new single “Freaky Girl,” in which she claimed she’s channeling the late funk legend Rick James and taking on his name, calling herself Nick James.
“#NickJames is coming to do what the girls SHOULD’VE done,” she began the tweet. “#NickJames is coming to show the girls why they should’ve just sat there & ate their foods. #NickJames is coming to show the boys how to REALLY gag the girls. Pauz #NickJames is coming to restore hope in mankind.”
Nicki also revealed in another tweet that a new episode of her popular Queen Radio would arrive right before the release of her highly anticipated “Freaky Girl” single on August 12.
“August 11th #QueenRadio, August 12th #FreakyGirl,” Nicki wrote in the emoji-clad tweet.
