Miami, FL – Pooh Shiesty will have to wait a few more months behind bars before he learns his sentencing fate for his federal firearms case in Florida. According to Commercial Appeal, Pooh Shiesty’s sentencing hearing is now set for April 7 at 2 p.m. ET in front of Judge K. Michael Moore inside Miami’s United States Courthouse.
Shiesty caught a break when he pleaded guilty to a single firearms conspiracy charge which led the prosecution to throw out the other three charges he was facing.
With the deal secured, the “Back In Blood” rapper will avoid the life sentence he was staring down, as the prosecution has now agreed to only recommend a maximum of eight years in prison.
The federal armed robbery case stems from an October 2020 shooting in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida where Pooh Shiesty allegedly shot an individual in the buttocks after he and two others robbed a victim following a failed meet-up for sneakers and marijuana.
Pooh Shiesty — born Lontrell Williams — has been repeatedly denied bond so he will remain in custody until his April 7 hearing. He’s been locked up inside Miami’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center since being arrested in June while awaiting trial.
In a separate Florida gun case, the 22-year-old is also accused of shooting a security guard in the leg at King of Diamonds strip club in Miami during Memorial Day Weekend.
The New 1017 Records rhymer also released “Federal Contraband” freestyle to close out 2021, where he candidly opens up about his case, promises a comeback and reflects on becoming a star during the pandemic.
