Quavo’s Hollywood hoop dreams were ended when 20th Century Studios elected to not have him play the role of Sidney Deane opposite Jack Harlow in the White Men Can’t Jump reboot. According to Deadline, the film has enlisted former Power actor Sinqua Walls in the Wesley Snipes role from the 1992 original instead.
Huncho made his pitch to TMZ last month with hopes of being cast in the film, but his confident words didn’t earn him the spot.
“I think they need to call me, so me and Jack Harlow can do it,” Quavo told the paparazzi. “I need to play Wesley Snipes’ role. Huncho and Harlow, let’s do it! Jack Harlow’s amazing. He can do everything.”
Outside of the booth, Harlow and Huncho showed off their dynamic chemistry on the basketball court when they teamed up last year to throttle Lil Baby and 2 Chainz in a game of 2-on-2 by a score of 21-7 at Bleacher Report‘s Open Run.
It’s not all doom and gloom on the acting front of Quavo, who is set to star as Coyote alongside Robert De Niro in Wash Me In the River later this year.
As for Jack Harlow, who nailed his first-ever audition for the White Men Can’t Jump reboot, he’s gearing up for the release of his Come Home the Kids Miss You album on May 6. His latest single, “First Class,” is reportedly challenging for the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 next week.
