Los Angeles, CA – Roddy Ricch has made a big real estate investment with the purchase of a mansion worth $5.6 million, according to Yahoo.
The 23-year-old rapper’s new home is located in Los Angeles, deep into the mountains above Beverly Hills. Built around 1960, the property boasts almost an acre of land, featuring a gated driveway, large swimming pool, a sports court and grassy lawns. The land also includes a guesthouse with the possibility for Roddy Ricch to easily turn it into a gym or recording studio.
Recently renovated and expanded, the main house is nearly 3,500-square-foot with a contemporary design. There are two master bedrooms with spa-like bathrooms, with most of the rooms including accordion-style glass doors that open to large patios. In addition, a new kitchen featuring stone coutertops has been installed, along with a media room with blackout shades and hardwood floors.
His new neighbor is rock star Eddie Van Halen, whose estate is situated behind trees and tall hedges.
Roddy Ricch was born and raised in California, but his lifestyle now looks a lot different to his Compton roots.
“I been through a lot,” he told Rolling Stone in 2019. “Going through shit like bullets flying, it’ll fuck you up a little bit. It triggers something else in you. This fame shit is new to me. Being in rooms where you don’t have to worry about shit, I don’t get that side of life yet. I’ll be in the room with millionaires and billionaires and still be like, ‘What’s going on? Who’s that at the door?’”
Speaking on the first time he got kicked out of his mom’s house, he said, “Broadway is this long street off downtown. I walked about 20 blocks in the middle of the night. I’m walking through different neighborhoods. On some corners, the entire corner is blood on the floor, the entire corner. Just imagine walking through that, feeling like, ‘I could die, just like that person died right here.’ There’s candles and signs. Sometimes that shit make you feel crazy. Like, did I defeat death?”
Roddy Ricch recently announced his sophomore album Live Life Fast is set to be released on December 17. The project will serve as the follow-up to 2019’s No. 1 album Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial, which was home to his record-breaking single “The Box.”
