A month after dropping the savage “2 Sauce,” HipHopDX 2021 Rising Star Sleepy Hallow is back with another offering. On Wednesday (April 14), Sleepy Hallow dropped an animated futuristic video for his latest single, “2055.”
The music video’s director Aylo tapped animators Owen Khang, Akam Hussein Rustam and Melis Sosa to design the futuristic setting that Sleepy explores in the new video. “2055” is produced by frequent collaborator Great John and finds Sleepy Hallow inviting listeners into his world, where he details his struggles with street life.
“You could see it in my eyes, huh/Real n-ggas cry blood (Blood)/Hope my kid never try drugs (Huh)/All I wanted was some love, would that trade for a gun (Huh)/Bick pack on me now, remember back then I was fucked up, huh/I don’t really want friends, everybody fake, I don’t got trust,” Sleepy rapped over the somber production.
“2055” is expected to show up on Sleepy Hallow’s debut album that he announced via his Instagram Story in February. Great John is expected to produce a majority of the album.
