Snoop Dogg snuck in an album this week ahead of the regularly scheduled program.
For his 18th solo endeavor, From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites, Tha Doggfather made a special exception for a Tuesday (April 20) release instead of the industry-standard Friday in order to commemorate 420.
His latest single, the thumping “Look Around,” finds Uncle Snoop Dogg (literally) digging in the crates for inspiration towards The Bakery-directed mini-clip.
Sifting through his classic records (as in vinyl), Snoop Dogg dons the likeness and imagery of LL Cool J’s Radio (back cover), Ice-T’s Power, King Tee’s Act A Fool, Boogie Down Productions’ (KRS-One) By All Means Necessary, Slick Rick’s The Great Adventures…, Eric B. & Rakim’s Paid In Full, Big Daddy Kane’s Long Live The Kane, Eazy-E’s Eazy-Duz-It, Too $hort’s Life Is… Too $hort, Ice Cube’s Amerikkka’s Most Wanted and Death Certificate and even his own Doggystyle for good measure.
2021 will see even more music from Snoop Dogg as he’s locked in with the Hip Hop supergroup Mount Rushmore adjacent from E-40, Ice Cube and Too $hort. The legendary collective previewed their first song “Big Subwoofer” on April 17 live during the latest Triller fight night.
