Snoop Dogg has finally announced a new tour, 18 months after the COVID-19 pandemic began its global takeover. But this time, he has his sights set on Australia for a brief arena run, marking his first time performing in the country since 2014.
The D-O-Double-G will land Down Under in October 2022 for the I Wanna Thank Me Tour in support of his seventeenth album, I Wanna Thank Me.
The tour kicks off at the RAC Arena in Perth on October 26 and then heads to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on October 28 and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on October 29 before wrapping up at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on November 1.
I Wanna Thank Me arrived in August 2019 with features from Chris Brown, Jermaine Dupri, YG, Wiz Khalifa, DJ Battlecat, Swizz Beatz, Slick Rick, Trey Songz and the late Nate Dogg, among others. Snoop Dogg then dropped From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites in April, which boasted 10 new tracks and production from Amplified, DJ Battlecat, DJ Camper, Nottz, ProHoeZak, Rick Rock, Soopafly, Terrace Martin and The Mekanix.
In between time, Snoop Dogg has been juggling his numerous endeavors — from starring in Corona and General Insurance commercials to his duties as Def Jam Recordings’ Executive Creative and Strategic Consultant, a role allowing him to strategically work across the label’s executive team and artist roster.
Pre-sale tickets for the I Wanna Thank Me Tour will be available via Telstra Plus™ on Friday (September 10) at noon local time, while general public tickets go on sale on Monday (September 13) at 4 p.m. local time.
