Soulja Boy may have his days where he feels one way or the other, whether it be defending his claim to being from Atlanta or his back-and-forth with Kanye West. But there’s one artist who’ll never get a verse from the “She Make It Clap” rapper, and he’s more than adamant about it.
During a recent chat with Raquel Harper for her It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper podcast, Big Draco revealed the time for him and 6ix9ine to collab had long passed, given 6ix9ine’s history with the legal system and his turning federal informant to shave time off of his sentence.
“N-gga, hell nawl!” Soulja laughs at the 20:43 minute mark. “I ain’t doin’ no damn song with you, get the fuck outta here! Yeah, we can’t do no song with 6ix9ine, he know that! He not expectin’ to get a Soulja Boy verse, he know that. It’s a wrap.”
He added, “It ain’t got nothin’ to do with me. We ain’t never did a song before, why we gon’ do one now? Why now though? You coulda did that when you first came out, the year after you came out … it’s too late! It’s way too late.”
If there was one New York rapper Soulja wished he could get a verse from in the future, it would be JAY-Z, noting Beyoncé once did the “Crank Dat” dance and how the soon-to-be father had a hand in not only building internet culture in Hip Hop, he also “created” the social media platform TikTok.
If 6ix9ine were to get a guest feature to reboot his career, it isn’t likely. The Brooklyn rapper previously told a judge during a court hearing in 2021 he was on the verge of bankruptcy and was “struggling” as his career has stalled out. Additionally, the rapper’s deal with 10K Projects expired in February and so did his merchandise deal.
On March 13, Wack 100 confirmed 6ix9ine’s steep downfall financially, saying he couldn’t even afford $20 worth of gas, a far cry from his September 2021 boast where he proclaimed the controversial rapper had $43 million worth of business deals lined up.
