Reality television fans were shocked after Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition star Vado violently attacked his co-star Tahiry Jose in a now-viral clip.
Well aware the video is everywhere, the former Love & Hip Hop: New York personality decided to address the incident via Instagram on Wednesday (July 29), assuring people the attack was not staged. Rather, what she says was a very real moment was emotionally damaging to her.
“First let me say that I’m devastated that this will be shown for the world to see, but I fully understand that I have chosen to live my life (good… bad… and ugly) in front of the camera,” she wrote. “Let me be CLEAR for all the people that are saying that this was ‘scripted’ it is NOT! As a woman that has already suffered physical abuse at the hands of a man why would I ever want to relive that? There is no check big enough for me to EVER play like that!”

As a woman that has already suffered physical abuse at the hands of a man why would I ever want to relive that? There is no check big enough for me to EVER play like that! • I appreciate the love & support that I’ve been receiving since this clip was released online. I ask for just a moment of privacy as I figure out the best way to address this publicly in full detail. • #Tahiry #IGotMe
Tahiry ended her statement by expressing gratitude to those who have been there for her: “I appreciate the love & support that I’ve been receiving since this clip was released online. I ask for just a moment of privacy as I figure out the best way to address this publicly in full detail.”
Psychiatrist Dr. Ish Major, who originally shared the clip on his Twitter page, vowed to “make it right” for Tahiry.
“This is not ok y’all!” he wrote alongside the preview. “Never. Ever. I couldn’t believe it happened. Everybody froze.”
