Posted by Belgian group Triggerfinger have officially returned, sharing their new album ‘Tarmac’ in its entirety. The release marks a significant milestone, arriving more than two decades after their self-titled debut—a period during which the band cemented their reputation as masters of chic, sylph-like rock music.
The journey to this record was not without its challenges. After years of relentless work, the band members took a step back to pursue individual projects. Tragically, the group faced a profound loss when co-founder Paul passed away in October 2025 following a year-long battle with health issues. In the wake of this heartbreak, remaining members Mario Goossens and Ruben Block chose to honor his memory through the most visceral, full-throttle music of their careers.
Fronted by Ruben Block on vocals and guitar and Mario Goossens on drums and vocals, the band has been bolstered by the addition of guitarist Geoffrey Burton—known for his work with icons like Grace Jones and Iggy Pop—for their live performances. This infusion of talent has helped Triggerfinger recapture the raw, hungry energy that defined their early years.
Informed by their extensive studio experience and the gnarly, unpolished physicality of their live shows, ‘Tarmac’ stands as a confident and assured return to form. It is a testament to the band’s enduring legacy and their ability to channel grief into something powerful and resonant.
