DeKalb County, GA – More details are pouring in regarding the death of “We Ready” rapper Archie Eversole. According to WSB-TV2, Eversole was shot on March 25 on Golf Vista Circle in DeKalb County, Georgia and rushed to a local hospital where he ultimately died from his injuries on April 3.
Eversole’s brother, Alexander Kraus, has been charged with the murder. Eversole was only 17 when he recorded his debut album Ride Wit Me Dirty South Style. The project was ultimately certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) due to the success of the popular sports anthem “We Ready,” which heavily sampled the 1969 hit “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” by Steam.
In 2019, the NFL released a commercial featuring the track. In the wake of his death, NFL free agent Robert Griffin III described “We Ready” as “the greatest Game Day anthem ever” while paying tribute to the 37-year-old.
HipHopDX sends our condolences to Archie Eversole’s friends and all those who loved him.
