XXXTENTACION Fans Wanting New Music Better Learn Up On NFTs

XXXTENTACION fans awaiting his new music can rely on a series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) scheduled to drop on Monday (May 10).

The late Florida-bred Soundcloud rap phenom’s is the latest among a fleet of rap stars such as Lil Yachty, Post Malone and Run-DMC who have entered the NFT virtual fan experience marketplace.

According to Rolling Stone, XXXTENTACION’s’s manager Solomon “Sounds” Sobande and his estate, overseen by his mother Cleopatra Bernard, is working with blockchain music and ticketing company YellowHeart to sell the exclusive items. They will contain rare XXX concert footage and five tracks, which have never been commercially released.

Sobande, who was named the new A&R senior VP at Capitol Records earlier this week, claimed the five tracks aren’t rare and he polled his deceased client’s fans to help decide on which tracks should be in the NFT.

“Although they were all big on SoundCloud, we never had the opportunity to monetize them or bring them off platform,” Sobande said. “Some of these songs aren’t even on his SoundCloud page anymore. There are just the remnants of them being reposted. These were the songs that built his career and led up to the explosion he had.”

The XXXTENTACION NFTs can be pre-ordered now via credit card or cryptocurrency payments at YellowHeart’s website. The sale begins begins at Monday at 12 p.m. ET and ends Thursday (May 15) at noon.

“We want this to be a surprise,” YellowHeart founder and CEO Josh Katz said. “There should be a reveal when it opens, as to what exactly it is.”

A portion of the proceeds from the NFTs will be donated to the XXXFoundation charity.

As an homage to XXXTENTACION and his favorite video game Grand Theft Auto, his team tapped the artist behind the game Stephen Bliss to create the NFTs’ artwork.
