XXXTENTACION’s estate is set to unleash the late rapper’s Look At Me documentary in partnership with Hulu on May 26. The nearly two-hour doc takes viewers on a rollercoaster ride digging deeper into X’s early life through his fast rise to superstardom as a teenage SoundCloud darling.
“For someone struggling very openly, to put that on a stage and to offer it up for public consumption, I think is a very special type of courage and service that artists do,” director Sabaah Folayan told Billboard. “[XXXTENTACION] was open about his issues. He didn’t necessarily win his battle before we lost him, but he gave us a space to talk about mental health and his internal struggle.”
XXXTENTACION — born Jahseh Onfroy — had troubling legal issues that accumulated to 15 felonies by 2018 relating to domestic violence altercations from his 2016 relationship with ex-girlfriend Geneva Ayala. The documentary doesn’t shy away from his demons and Ayala’s voice plays a major role in the film.

Outside of commentary from X’s mother Cleopatra Bernard, look for cameos from his Hip Hop friends and collaborators such as Trippie Redd, Joey Bada$$, Ski Mask the Slump God and Juice WRLD.
The “Moonlight” rapper was tragically killed on June 18, 2018 at the age of 20 while leaving the parking lot of Riva Motorsports in Deerfield Park, Florida when a pair of armed gunmen approached his car and fatally shot X.
His legacy has only continued to grow in the afterlife, where he earned his first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 following his death with “SAD!” X’s final album, ?, has now spent a full four years on the Billboard 200.
