Budding Portland rapper Yeat returned on Tuesday (March 1) with the surprise drop of his visual for “On tha linë,” which was filmed entirely in Paris.
Throughout the glitchy visual, the 22-year-old lyricist wanders around the city late at night, spitting bars in his signature balaclava mask. The latest visual accompaniment comes after Yeat dropped his highly-anticipated 2 Alivë album via Zack Bia’s Field Trip Recordings and Geffen Records on February 18, and is the first music video to arrive off the project. The 20-track album features Young Thug, Gunna, Ken Car$on, SeptembersRich and Yung Kayo.
Yeat’s has had a killer 2022 so far. Following the release of 2 Alivë, the rapper was set to perform a show at Los Angeles’ Roxy Theatre, but the show was ultimately canceled because over 1,000 people poured out into Sunset Boulevard to gain access to the show, with LAPD later arriving on scene to disperse the unruly crowd, and shutting down Sunset Boulevard in the process for several hours. News helicopters also circled overhead and captured tons of fans screaming and cheering.
“It appears the venue oversold the event,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Tracy Koerner said. “Too many people and not enough tickets.”
Yeat reacted to the crowd on his Instagram Stories shortly after things got out of hand.
“Y’all insane,” Yeat wrote with a series of laughing emojis. “Shit da shyt down NEWS pulled up we #TRENDY We gone do a part 2 don’t worry.”
