YG has been in his Tupac bag lately and fans will apparently feel that heavily when they hear his new album. Talking to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe on Wednesday (September 23), the Los Angeles native explained how Pac influenced his forthcoming effort My Life 4Hunnid.
“This album was highly influenced by Tupac,” he said. “This is as far as the space I’m in and what I’m dealing with in life. He went through a lot of the stuff that I’m dealing with right now, and he was making records about it, and just the tone and the cadence of how he was coming up. I was playing with a lot of that type of sway of Tupac.”
YG also released the video to My Life 4Hunnid single “Out On Bail” Wednesday, which was the same name of Pac’s Thug Life Vol. 1 compilation album single in 1994.
Last week, the Bompton rapper revealed the cover art for the forthcoming album, which is set to drop on October 2 via Def Jam Recordings.
Initially revealing the title to be Laugh Now, Kry Later earlier this year and releasing a song of the same name, it appears he may have changed direction following Drake’s Lil Durk-assisted single of the same name (albeit, a different spelling).

My Life 4Hunnid will serve as YG’s fifth studio album and follows May 2019’s 4Real 4Real, which debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 with 37,000 album-equivalent units.
