“[Young Dolph] sent the message that someone who went to the same schools as them, and walked the same streets that they do, was able to not only create a successful legacy for himself, but also prioritized family and community,” Dolph’s family relayed in a statement.
Young Dolph — born Adolph Thorton Jr. — was gunned down on November 17 while grabbing some treats at Memphis staple Makeda’s Homemade Cookies. The Paper Route Empire boss was in town for his annual turkey drive ahead of Thanksgiving.
Doph was laid to rest in a private ceremony on November 30 in Memphis. Photos and clips surfaced online of the funeral procession and the program featuring heartbreaking photos of the late 36-year-old with his family.
