Memphis rapper Young Dolph was shot and killed on Wednesday (November 17) while picking up cookies from his favorite local bakery, Makeda’s Butter Cookies. Now, Dolph’s wife is speaking out.
On Thursday (November 18) as the rap community grappled with yet another fatal shooting, Mia Jaye took her grief to Instagram and expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support.
“Thank you to everyone for all of your prayers, love, support, calls, messages… I may not see them all but when my eyes are not full of tears, I catch a few,” she wrote. “Nonetheless, all the genuine positive vibes, energy and prayers are welcome… because Lord knows I need them…”

In a follow-up video, Jaye shared a clip of Young Dolph exercising and questioned how she’d be able to tell their two children they’d never see their father again.
“How am I going to tell my babies that daddy is never coming home?” she captioned the post. “God give me strength…Adolph I love you with all my heart and soul.”
In a 2020 interview with GQ, Young Dolph talked about how much he’d enjoyed being in lockdown with his partner and kids.
“We watching movies, we having [toy] gun fights, we on the trampoline, we doing everything,” he said at the time. “We playing. I’m in my daughter’s room, I’m in her little castle thing she got. She crawl in, I’m crawling my big ass in that muthafucka.
“I’m in their world right now. Everything they like to do, everything they play, I’m all in that world right now. I’m just a big-ass kid right now.”
