Kanye West sat down for a rare interview with Drink Champs last month, which trended on Twitter for at least two days. During his conversation with N.O.R.E. and co-host DJ EFN, Kanye broached a bevy of topics, including his crumbling marriage to Kim Kardashian, G.O.O.D. Music and past beef with Drake. But a few comments Ye made about Big Sean didn’t sit right with the former G.O.O.D. Music artist.
When N.O.R.E. asked who he preferred, Pusha T or Big Sean, Kanye got up and grabbed a fake gravestone from the leftover Halloween decorations and said, “Oh I love this. Let me tell you. I already decided that when I die, on my tombstone it’s gonna say, ‘I deserve to be here because I signed Big Sean.’”
N.O.R.E. got confused and thought Kanye said signing Big Sean was the “best thing” he’s ever done when really he said it was the “worst thing” he’d ever done. Evidently, Kanye was still bothered by Big Sean and singer John Legend failing to support him during his 2020 presidential bid.
“I know this man’s mama,” he added. “I’ve changed this man’s family. And both John Legend and Big Sean, when I ran for office, got used quick by the Democrats to come at they boy that actually changed they life, and that’s some sellout shit. And I don’t rock with neither of them, and I need their apologies.”
While Big Sean initially tried to laugh it off, he later claimed Kanye still owed him $6 million. His true feelings were further revealed on his own episode of Drink Champs. The show airs on Thursday (December 16) but won’t get uploaded to YouTube until Saturday (December 18). To whet fans’ appetites, Drink Champs shared a brief clip of Sean Don addressing Ye’s comments via Instagram on Wednesday (December 15).
“I love Kanye, bro,” Sean says in the video. “I love him for the opportunity he gave me, and all these things. But I thought what he said was some bitch ass shit.”
