Posted by Beanie Sigel’s history as one of the original Roc-A-Fella capos in the late ’90s and early ’00s means his name holds weight, not only in his hometown of Philadelphia but also Hip Hop at large.
While his recording output has slowed tremendously due to several health setbacks and legal troubles, the Broad Street Bully can still drop a verse or two. Judging by a recent series of photos shared to Instagram, he’s gearing up to re-appear on one of the biggest album sequels of 2022.
Sigel posted photos and videos of him on microphone and in the same space as Kanye West on Saturday (February 5). While the two first collaborated on “The Truth” from Sigel’s 2000 debut album The Truth, Sigel shared their latest collaboration maybe even bigger.
“Donda 2 sheesh !!!” he exclaimed while naming Ye as well as DaBaby in the caption.

The Roc reunion between the two would be the first on wax since Ye produced three of Sigel’s songs in the early 2000s. Following “The Truth,” Ye and Sigel connected again for “Nothing Like It” and “Gangsta Gangsta” off of Sigel’s 2001 album LP, The Reason.

The pair’s relationship came back into focus last November following Ye’s controversial appearance on the Drink Champs podcast. After Ye revealed the true origins of the Yeezy nickname, he gave Sigel his props.
“People who took a liking to me in volatile situations would always give me a nickname so it seemed like I was cool like them,” Ye told N.O.R.E and DJ EFN. “My boy Mali who used to sell guns, he called me K-Rock when I would be on 79th and stuff like that.
“[Yeezy] was Beanie’s name for me when I was in Baseline [Studios]. Like on some, ‘Oh, that’s Yeezy,’ make him one of us. He let me wear his State Property chain. He really just embraced me.”

Ye would later promise Sigel a hefty $50 million payday, but Sigel would later turn it down.
“I did name him that, but as far as his business mind and where he took it, Kanye worked hard for this,” Sigel told TMZ. “Kanye don’t owe me nothing. I don’t know if I would take a number. Because you give somebody a fish today, he gon’ eat for the day. If you teach somebody how to fish, he’s gon’ eat forever. He’s gon’ teach his family how to fish.”
