Cleveland, OH – As All-Star weekend kicked off on Friday (February 18), Fat Joe and DJ Envy stopped by Saint Martin de Porres High School in Cleveland’s St. Clair-Superior neighborhood to surprise the school’s graduating class with a pep rally.

Surprising students with more than $37,000 towards their education, Fat Joe and Envy appeared as part of Pepsi Stronger Together’s Pep Rally, which is Pepsi series of grassroots initiatives tailored to assist local communities. During the pep rally, Fat Joe gifted the school’s drumline with new uniforms and instruments, as well as a trip to Houston to compete in a battle of the bands. He also gifted an additional $20,000 to the school’s seniors for educational scholarships.

Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star Darius Garland also stopped for a special appearance, all while Envy performed for students.

“We’re honored to support the hard-working students at Saint Martin de Porres High School who have shown a commitment to their education, their future, and their community,” Derek Lewis, President of PepsiCo Multicultural Business and Equity Development, said in a statement. “On behalf of Pepsi Stronger Together with MTN DEW and RUFFLES, we are proud to facilitate educational opportunities for this year’s seniors and the many more to come.”

Mary Sayre, who is the Senior Director of Student Life at Saint Martin de Porres High School, also said in a statement the school was, “incredibly thankful to Pepsi Stronger Together for the donation of equipment and scholarships for our students!”

She added, “These scholarships are critical to seniors as they help remove financial barriers that may prevent students from enrolling or persisting in college. The drumline, which has tripled in size over the last 5 years, is a central component of our school’s culture, representing Saint Martin at various events across Northeast Ohio. This equipment will allow us to meet the growing interest of students who want to join the group and honor those who are already part of it.”

All-Star Weekend is currently in full swing. On Friday, NBA champ Bill Walton, Quavo and Machine Gun Kelly led their basketball team to victory at the 2022 Ruffles Celebrity Game to kick off the festivities. The team achieved a 65-51 win over Atlanta Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins’ ball club, which included Jack Harlow and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett.
