Los Angeles, CA – Rihanna and A$AP Rocky announced they were having their first child last month by sharing their pregnancy photo shoot with PEOPLE magazine. Now, rumors the couple is engaged are flying after TMZ published a photo of the Barbadian superstar sporting a giant diamond ring on her left ring finger — the finger.
Paparazzi caught up with Rihanna in Los Angeles on Monday (March 20) as she was shopping at the local boutique Kitson. Of course, the ring could mean nothing considering she was spotted wearing the same one last November as she accepted the Barbados National Hero honor — but on a different finger. She was also spotted rocking it in July 2021 while shooting a music video with A$AP Rocky in New York, that time on her middle finger.

A$AP Rocky and Rihanna have been dating since at least November 2020 and people have been clamoring for an engagement ever since. In an August 2021, a source told Us Weekly an engagement was in their future.
“These two are so madly in love, and it’s true there’s a lot of buzz in their circle about an engagement being in the works,” they said. “Going by the hints Rocky’s been dropping, [it] may well happen soon, but there’s no pressure and what matters most to both of them is to keep building on this truly beautiful thing they’ve got going.”
In the wake of Rihanna’s pregnancy news, some people were more concerned about the nearly mythical follow-up to 2017’s ANTI, which has yet to come to fruition. In February 2020, she joked she liked to “antagonize” her fans by making them wait but two years later, the project still hasn’t materialized.
Last September, Rihanna provided an update to the Associated Press ahead of her Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 3 in Los Angeles, saying, “You’re not going to expect what you hear — just put that in your mind. Whatever you know of Rihanna is not going to be what you hear. I’m really experimenting. Music is like fashion: you should be able to play. I should be able to wear whatever I want and I treat music the same way. So I’m having fun and it’s going to be completely different.”
