Atlanta, GA – Young Thug’s nephew Fardereen Deonta Grier was reportedly arrested near Atlanta on Wednesday (July 6) for the murder of his girlfriend Destiny Fitzpatrick. According to TMZ, East Point Police were called to a residence just outside of the city where they discovered Grier crying and Fitzpatrick’s body in a pool of blood by the front door.
East Point Police Department spokesperson Allyn Glover said Grier told the police he was Young Thug’s nephew, the son of Thug’s oldest sister, information he curiously offered to officers on his own.
Fulton County Sheriff’s Office
Grier initially told responding officers he was fending off two armed, masked intruders but then admitted he shot Fitzpatrick in the face. A neighbor told police they’d heard them fighting inside the home prior to the shooting. Grier was promptly arrested and charged with murder.
Young Thug is currently facing legal troubles of his own. In May, he, Gunna and 26 others were named in a sweeping 56-count indictment stemming from a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) case.
A Fulton County judge denied bond for the Young Stoner Life founder last month and he must remain behind bars until at least January 2023 when he heads to trial. Charges include conspiring to violate the the RICO Act, murder, armed robbery and participation in criminal street gang activity.
