Cobb County, GA – Young Thug will, unfortunately, remain behind bars inside Cobb County Jail until his trial gets underway in January 2023.
Luckily, he’s been allowed certain visitation hours and phone calls, as fans have received updates from the likes of Lil Baby and his ex-girlfriend Jerrika Karlae.
Over the weekend, Thugger’s sister Dorrah paid him a visit and she took to Twitter on Sunday (July 10) to give a positive update on her brother’s state of mind.
“Just seen Jeff … he’s all smiles & positive energy,” she wrote.

That lines up with previous updates courtesy of Baby and Jerrika who said the YSL boss was in “great spirits” behind bars.
“Yeah, I spoke to him,” Jerrika told The Progress Report Podcast in June. “He’s doing good, actually, and he’s in great spirits. I feel like this is just a moment for him to learn a lot of lessons.”
Thugger has maintained his innocence in the RICO case where he, Gunna and 26 other alleged YSL affiliates were arrested in May as part of a 56-count indictment.
Prosecutors believe they are behind numerous crimes, including murder, armed robbery and participation in criminal street gang activity.
Gunna suffered the same fate as Thug when he was denied bond by a Fulton County Court judge last week as prosecutors argued that witness tampering could take place if he was allowed to leave jail.
