Lil Wayne Twins With 12-Year-Old Son At 2022 ESPYs, Gives Warriors 'Best Team' Award

Lil Wayne took his 12-year-old son Kameron Carter to this year’s ESPYs, where he had the honor of giving the award for Best Team to the Golden State Warriors.

Weezy was snapped in a few photos twinning with Kam at Wednesday’s event (July 20), as the father-son duo both wore an all-black attire and were dripped out in jewelry. Wayne’s son was noticeably decked out in a sleek Fendi T-shirt.

Later in the evening, Wayne joined Star Wars actor John Boyega and gymnast Sunisa Lee as they awarded Golden State Warriors players Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and Juan Toscano-Anderson their ESPY.

Lil Wayne’s appearance alongside his son comes after the rap legend recently announced his annual Lil WeezyAna Fest would return for its sixth year on August 27. Wayne will headline the affair, but  Moneybagg Yo, Coi Leray, Rob 49 and other special guests are also set to perform.

“We’re glad to be back home,” Young Money President Mack Maine wrote in a statement. “New Orleans birthed us and we can travel and hit the stage anywhere in the world, but there’s no place like home!

“As always, we will be honoring the many lives lost in Hurricane Katrina as this year marks the 17th year anniversary. Wayne is excited to get back home as this one will be one you won’t want to miss!”

As for music, Lil Wayne made a memorable appearance alongside Slick Rick on “The Root Of All,” taken from DJ Premier’s new Hip Hop Volume 1  EP that dropped last Friday (July 15). Preemo told The Fader that Slick Rick is often reluctant about who he works with, but that he signed on to the track once he heard Wayne’s verse.

“I hit Rick up, and he’s like, ‘Well, I’m really picky about who I rhyme with. Is the rhyme dope?’ Premier recalled. “And I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, Wayne got busy.’ As soon as I gave it to him, he’s like, ‘Man, I love Wayne’s verse. I’m gonna do a hook and a verse.’ So I was like, ‘Perfect.’”
