YG Won't Leave Brittany Renner For Sidepiece In 'Toxic' Music Video

YG has unleashed the official music video to his new single “Toxic” featuring an appearance from Brittany Renner — check it out below.

Released on Friday (August 12), the video is directed by the rapper and Austin Simkins, and it finds YG in a complicated situation.

In the visual, the Compton native is madly in love with a woman that seems to be spending a lot of time with him. The woman looks to be fully invested in the relationship, however, YG doesn’t feel the same.

He starts to have second thoughts and it doesn’t take long before the woman snoops through his phone and finds a picture of YG kissing the belly of a very pregnant Brittany Renner.

She confused, ’cause I love her so that’s what she thought/ She’s confused and that’s ’cause I be in it raw/ She confused and she tellin’ me it’s my fault/ I said I love her, then I point out things that I brought/ You knew from the gate I had family I won’t shake/ So stop bein’ fake, tears fall from her face when I talk,” YG raps.

The picture that YG’s sidepiece stumbles upon in the video is the same image the rapper used to promote the single earlier this week. Fans were caught by surprise as the fictional couple played up an act that they were actually dating and expecting a child.

“Aye @bundleofbrittany you TOXIC,” YG captioned the photo on Instagram to which Renner replied, “2 Pisces so you know it’s toxic.”

YG has kept a pretty low profile prior to the release of “Toxic.” After his good friend Slim 400 was shot and killed in Los Angeles at the tail-end of 2021, YG put all his attention on his music and burgeoning record label.

In February, the My Krazy Life rapper revealed his next LP woud be titled Pray For Me and will arrive sometime this year on Def Jam Records.

The announcement came right after YG unleashed the star-studded single “Scared Money,” which featured J. Cole and Moneybagg Yo. The rap trio pulled off a risky bank heist in the track’s accompanying music video.

During a recent visit to Power 106, YG detailed how his upcoming album will signify his truth.

“The music is just gonna be my truth, as far as my life right now,” he explained. “It’s just the growth of me, my headspace, what I’m on in life. And I think the whole COVID pandemic shit, I hated it, but I also look at it as like this shit kinda helped me get to where I’m at mentally.”
