Henry Morris is leaning into the uncomfortable spaces most people spend their morning-afters trying to forget. With his latest single, ‘One Night Stand,’ the Los Angeles singer-songwriter and producer turns temporary encounters into a dark, melancholic meditation on longing, transient human connection, and the quiet silence that follows.
Co-produced and written alongside Kevin White, the track picks up the same unflinching emotional thread Morris introduced on his 2024 debut album ‘Jawbreaker,’ examining the gulf between physical indulgence and genuine emotional intimacy. Instead of rushing past the aftermath, Morris lingers in the hollow quiet left behind once the other person walks out the door.
That willingness to be vulnerable has been central to Morris’ trajectory. After shedding his college economics degree and stepping away from his former pop duo Playyard, Morris spent time touring the globe alongside producer and friend Saint Levant. Those experiences helped shape his transition toward a moodier, cinematic sound world. Now backed by Giant Music, with over 100 million catalog streams and early co-signs from the likes of Cigarettes After Sex and Joe Jonas, Morris continues to build momentum, establishing himself as a compelling storyteller within indie pop.
The timing of the release couldn’t be better as Henry Morris is gearing up to take these songs across North America, Europe, and the UK as direct support on Artemas’ massive 38-date Getting Up to No Good Tour, kicking off this September.
