Steve Lacy today shares his new single ‘is it cool?’, featuring SZA.

On the funk-infused avant soul offering — rife with pirouetting guitar lines and cosmic sound effects — the duo interplay their knotty tendencies and self-sabotaging behaviours in and out of relationships.

It’s the latest offering from upcoming album ‘Oh yeah?’, out July 17th via RCA Records, following lead single ‘the feeling’.

‘Oh yeah?’ — which saw Lacy take the reins of production, writing, performance, and creative — is the culmination of a four-year journey whereupon Steve found himself feeling at home in foreign countries and situations, and less at home at home.

The taut 10-track album features Erykah Badu on the song ‘pure colour’ and pop-electronic artist Cecile Believe on ‘lovesexdrugbomb’, and is described as “a record for guitar kids who love synths and synth kids who love guitars.”

To usher in this new era, Lacy will embark on a series of tour dates across Asia this Summer, including headlining slots at Summer Sonic and Lalala festival.
