Copenhagen-based, New York-rooted artist True Blue has today unveiled ‘Fountain Edits’, a five-track reimagining of ‘Fountain’ — a defining moment from their acclaimed 2025 debut mixtape ‘Star Witness’.
‘Fountain Edits’ invites a close-knit community of artists to reinterpret the emotional core of the original track. Featuring contributions from DJ Python, Vanessa Amara, Former Actress, Harmony Index, alongside ‘Proof She’s Picked Her Poison’ — a newly reworked version written with close creative collaborator Nature Boy — the EP reflects the international creative community within which True Blue is intrinsically intertwined.
Nature’s ‘Proof She’s Picked Her Poison’ transforms the song into a grungy, trip-hop meditation; Danish duo Vanessa Amara deliver an ethereal trance-pop reconstruction; NYC’s DJ Python stretches the source material into an expansive eight-minute journey where dembow rhythms dissolve into ambient jungle; Former Actress recasts True Blue’s pitched-down vocal into a glistening dream-pop apparition; while Los Angeles producer Harmony Index closes the collection with an esoteric, breakbeat-driven interpretation.
Spanning Copenhagen, New York, Los Angeles and beyond, the 5-tracker covers as much geographical ground as it does sonic territory, while keeping the emotional gravity of ‘Fountain’ firmly at its centre.
This autumn, True Blue will join Boy Harsher across North America as direct support, beginning in Seattle and concluding in New York City.
Alongside the ‘Fountain Edits’, True Blue shares the official music video for the original version, directed by Fiona Kane and filmed in Los Angeles.
