DDG Addresses Blueface Baby Shower Invite Controversy

DDG has publicly accepted responsibility for failing to respond to Blueface‘s invitation to his girlfriend’s baby shower. The event, which celebrated the upcoming arrival of the rapper’s child with Nevaeh Akira, took place on Sunday, August 16, and became a point of contention after Blueface expressed his frustration regarding the lack of communication.

During a Kick livestream on Wednesday, August 19, DDG addressed the situation directly. While he acknowledged that he missed the event, he emphasized that his bond with the Los Angeles artist remains intact. “Me and Blueface are cool, y’all. Blueface was not wrong,” he explained. “Blueface is my real friend. I have not been tapping in with him like I could have. I took accountability for that. I need to be a better person with responding.”

The tension initially surfaced when Blueface questioned the status of their friendship during his own livestream. The “Thotiana” rapper noted that he felt slighted by the absence, especially given that he and DDG had previously discussed a potential joint tour. Blueface expressed that he felt the lack of response was “weird,” particularly after DDG opted to send 50 subscriptions during a stream rather than attending the celebration in person.

Despite the public airing of grievances, it appears the two have since resolved their differences behind the scenes. The situation comes at a significant time for Blueface, as he and Nevaeh welcomed their first child together, a son named Johnathan Jamall Porter Jr., on Tuesday, August 18.
