The band is anchored by the brotherly duo of Jamie Autorino on vocals and Daniel Autorino on guitar. Together, they craft a sound that expertly fuses jagged, abrasive guitar work with searing electronic beats. Rounded out by the rhythmic foundation of Hannah Pemberton on bass and Luca Volpi on drums, the four-piece has quickly gained a reputation as a thrilling live act, known for their visual flair and sharp, witty lyricism.
‘Cool People Are Arseholes’ is a quintessential example of their approach. It is a wave of kinetic energy that pokes fun at those who take themselves far too seriously. Reflecting on the inspiration behind the track, the band shared: “’Cool People Are Arseholes’ takes the piss out of the way people try to manufacture a personality through clothes, brands and whatever happens to be fashionable that week. It’s about that endless performance of looking interesting, detached and effortlessly cool, when underneath it all there might not be much going on. But the song isn’t written from a completely superior position. The ‘I can’t leave it’ line is an admission that we’re all caught up in that world to some extent, even while we’re laughing at it.”
