As the legal proceedings continue to unfold, Springfield’s account has introduced significant contradictions regarding the events surrounding the aftermath of King Von’s death.
On Thursday, Sept. 3, Springfield took the stand in Los Angeles. She testified that she never observed Lil Durk at the home where King Von’s memorial was held, nor did she witness any discussions regarding retaliation for Von’s killing during that three-day period. Her testimony stands in stark contrast to claims made by OTF Vonnie, who previously alleged on the stand that he and Durk had discussed seeking revenge for Von’s death at that same location.
According to reports from the courtroom, Springfield—a 10-year U.S. Army veteran—detailed the close relationship between King Von and OTF Vonnie (born Kavon Grant). She noted that the two were inseparable and that Vonnie had assumed control over King Von’s finances. During the proceedings, the defense raised questions regarding whether Vonnie had misappropriated $300,000 from a trust intended for King Von’s son, though the line of questioning was met with an objection and not further explored.
Springfield further testified that when she inquired about the identity of King Von’s killer, Vonnie allegedly told her “not to worry about it, and he’s going to take care of it.”
As the trial nears its conclusion, defense attorneys have confirmed that Lil Durk, along with co-defendants OTF Dede and Browneyez, will not be testifying. Closing arguments are currently slated for Tuesday, Sept. 8. Following the day’s events, Lil Durk posted a brief message to his Instagram Story, stating, “Allah Is The Greatest,” accompanied by a prayer emoji.
