The legal battle between 50 Cent and Tia Kemp continues to escalate. On Tuesday, Nov. 3, the New York rapper appeared in court via Zoom to address his ongoing cyberstalking case against the former partner of Rick Ross. While the proceedings moved forward, Kemp was notably absent from the virtual hearing.
The legal action stems from a complaint filed by 50 Cent last month, in which he is seeking a permanent injunction to prevent Kemp from harassing or cyberstalking his 14-year-old son, Sire Jackson. During the Zoom session, which was previously highlighted in reports from TMZ, the rapper informed the judge that he would have been willing to drop the complaint had the public disparagement of him and his family ceased. Acknowledging the complexity of the situation, the judge granted 50 Cent an additional 30 to 45 days to determine whether he intends to proceed with the request for a protective order.
Despite her absence from the courtroom, Kemp took to her TikTok account to address the situation. In a candid video, she dismissed the legal proceedings, questioning the necessity of the rapper’s virtual appearance and expressing her lack of concern regarding the complaint. This latest development follows a separate $6 million federal lawsuit filed by 50 Cent’s legal team in California on Oct. 26.
The tension between the two parties began in October, following a series of social media exchanges involving 50 Cent, Kemp, and Rick Ross’ son. The conflict intensified after 50 Cent publicly commented on an incident involving the alleged pistol-whipping of Ross’ son, leading to a retaliatory cycle of social media posts targeting 50 Cent’s own family.
