Bruno Major Glides Back Into Our Life With 'Old Soul'

Posted by

Bruno Major will release new album ‘To Let A Good Thing Die’ on June 5th.

The English songwriter’s sterling debut LP marked him out as a voice of endearing depth, something he aims to expand with his next project.

Out this summer, ‘To Let A Good Thing Die’ will be previewed by a full live clip, one that goes online at 4pm today (March 19th).

For now, fans can feast on soulful new single ‘Old Soul’, with its jazz-leaning buoyancy putting us in mind of Jordan Rakei.

A song about the emptiness that follows a break up, it’s about heartache and recovery, and the resilience the heart can show.

He comments…

“‘Old Soul’ is an ode to an immediate post break up, self-pitying, stay in for three weeks and eat Uber eats three times a day wallow. We’ve all been there!”

“I came up with the main drum beat on an actual drum kit, which was a first for me…and then [co-producer] Phairo and I built the arrangement from there. I wrote this song with Xamvolo in my kitchen – it was originally on guitar, but this version is heavily drum and bass led. It’s a new feeling for me, and I adore it.”

Tune in now.
