Dublin post-punk group Fontaines D.C. will stream a show from London’s O2 Academy Brixton this month.
The band’s new album ‘A Hero’s Death’ was released earlier this year, produced in South London by Speedy Wunderground boffin Dan Carey.
Capturing their live sound, it added new dimensions to their songwriting, while tapping into their visceral edge.
Set to chart prominently on those End Of Year polls, the record will form the crux of a special one off performance.
Hitting London’s O2 Academy Brixton on November 23rd, the MelodyVR show will feature augmented content for fans.
Say the band…
“Brixton was one of the last places we played to an audience and it was a really special show for us. It’s a weird thing to be playing a show to an empty room, regardless of the size or esteem of it. Maybe even more so because of that. Hopefully though with you there we can get back some kind of ghost of that feeling, even if it’s not quite the same.”
