Jorja Smith has shared her new single ‘Addicted’.
The singer’s debut album ‘Lost & Found’ is now a memory, with her focus on a superb run of brand new singles.
2020 brought her Blue Note collaboration with Ezra Collective, the socially aware ‘By Any Means’, and her Popcaan aided dancehall burner ‘Come Over’.
New single ‘Addicted’ builds on this, and the subtle but powerful rhythmic energy propels one of her finest vocals to date.
A song about love and infatuation, the lyrics focus “on wanting the full attention of someone who’s not giving enough (or any) when they should be…”
The video taps into these lockdown days, an intimate self-directed affair shot on webcam.
Jorja explains: “The video is multiple versions of me singing the song; having fun dressing up, not trying to be too serious and just giving myself more freedom.”
Tune in now.
