Kinkai has shared super smooth new jammer ‘Top Down’.
The Manchester talent is focussing on his new album, with ‘A Pennies Worth’ set to drop on May 1st.
Produced comes from jazz-tronica duo Blue Lab Beats, with Kinkai roping in a few close friends and key collaborators.
Take new single ‘Top Down’. Blissful production augmented by stellar vocals, it finds Kinkai working alongside soulful Mancunians Children Of Zeus.
There’s a G-Funk swagger to the beat, aligned to some jazz-type looseness, while ‘Top Down’ also channels a carefree neo-soul vibe.
Kinkai says…
“I like to take scenics wherever I go (especially when I’m driving). The weather has been getting warmer and everyone’s stuck inside. But I had this rather dangerous vision of speeding through a forest in a convertible, Henny in my hand a pretty girl driving. I told Zeus my vision and we pretty much brought it to life. At times we overthink what fun is and sometimes it’s just being creative.”
