Listen: Favela – 'Homingbird'

Posted by

Over the past few years, Favela has found the perfect balance in creating concise and impactful bodies of work.

In the past, the Leeds native has preferred a tight structural aesthetic – with his most recent projects containing just ten tracks, running for under 45 minutes in total.

However, the singer and producer has taken a different approach on new track ‘Homingbird’. Encouraged by his manager to let his vision breathe, the new single clocks in at around eight and a half minutes.

The atmospheric and melancholic final composition speaks to Favela’s growing confidence and ability as a producer, as the beat subtly evolves to an ethereal climax.

Speaking on the new track, Favela says:

“’Homingbird’ is about being hungry for something you desire, and not settling for anything less until it’s fully yours. The song begins with a yearning that intensifies as it crescendos, to the point where it can’t be ignored and soon takes over. The song for me feels like a dance where one is in step with yearning.”

Tune in now.
