Melisa Whiskey has shared her new single ‘Crazy Love’.
The songwriter grew up in North London, with her close-knit family blasting out music of all descriptions.
Indebted to her Nigerian heritage, Melisa began adding a soulful touch to the emerging afro fusion that developed across the city.
New single ‘Crazy Love’ takes the singer back to Nigeria, working with red-hot producer Jaypizzle.
The song emerges from a dark place but is shrouded in light, with Melisa Whiskey attempting to find a forward path.
She says: “I wrote ‘Crazy Love’ whilst at my family house in Ikeja Lagos Nigeria. The beat was produced by Jaypizzle and immediately I felt inspired drawing from a whirlwind bad relationship experience of unrequited and CRAZY love.”
Melissa adds: “I wrote ‘Crazy Love’ coz, at the time I was in a really dark place and was literally pouring my heart out through music…”
