The Fernweh Share Dazzling Single 'The Wounds Of Love'

Scouse-linked psychedelic wanderers The Fernweh have shared their new single ‘The Wounds Of Love’.

The band’s debut album landed back in 2018, a 6Music favourite that was lauded by critics for its optimistic creativity.

Acid folk meets guitar pop meets lord alone knows what else, their brew has evolved into a potent elixir.

New single ‘The Wounds Of Love’ is now online, and it’s a bold, dazzling return, shot through with colour and invention.

Potent and infectious, it draws lyrical inspiration from Oscar Wilde’s story The Selfish Giant, published back in 1888.

Taking the story’s essential theme and transplanting it into our current dystopia, The Fernweh have crafted something vital for 2021.

The band’s Ned Crowther comments…

“The song is coloured by contrasting shades of fear, division, fury, injustice, walls, borders, kindness, redemption and forgiveness. Wilde’s story is, in the same way, a forbidding yet redemptive parable for children, which resonates now more than ever in today’s turbulent world.”
