Allan Franzner’s debut release came with a full-length album called Who Pays The Price?, a gruesome rock collection that mercilessly calls out the excessive greediness of our leaders in an authentic modern rock style. The Canadian artist decided to release the very last song of the album “Sometime the Crook Is but a Memory” as a reminder to the aftermath of capitalism– loneliness, sadness and a life without meaning.
With each song, Allan Franzner has a clear message and with “Sometime the Crook Is but a Memory” the song depicts a not too distant reality of bleak living conditions and not a whole lot to live for. Throughout the album, the artist is calling out what the big corporations are doing and how they’re destroying our environment and he places “Sometime the Crook Is but a Memory” as the last song to emphasise the imminent danger.
